30 lessons from 30 years
On the 30th of March, I turn 30! Apparently it’s called the golden birthday because the date and age match? Not sure, but I’ll go with it. Who doesn’t want a golden birthday?! I do! 🙋🏻♀️
Kyle surprised me with a weekend away at Falls Retreat which I would highly recommend! If you’re in New Zealand you definitely need to make trip there!
While we were there, I had this feeling that with this apparently ‘significant’ birthday (and the fact that it’s my 30th, I should be panicking right?! I’m not. I don’t even feel like I’m 30)
I wanted to share the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the last 30 years. They are not necessarily one for every year I’ve lived, the majority have actually been learned over the last 4 years. Nonetheless, they are all lessons I’ve learned on my journey to create and live the fantastic life that I WANT to live!
I hope you enjoy them!
1 - Your childhood definitely shapes you, but you CAN change how you live now. It doesn’t need to define your whole life course.
2 - You can leave your religion if you choose to and still live an incredible and happy life.
3 - You can go through phases of hating and loving life, at the end of the day, you’re choosing it for yourself.
4 - Alcohol and partying can be a phase, but don’t let it control your life
5 - Nature really does heal you on a cell and soul level
6 - You can change everything about who you are if you want to (and you’re allowed to)
7 - You can follow your own path away from society and you won’t be any less “successful”.
8 - It really isn’t about the money, it’s about how you spend your time and if you’re happy doing what you’re doing!
9 - He/She won’t love you until you love yourself completely first
10 - Being 74kgs didn’t make you happy, neither did 58kg. What makes you happy is in your heart and head.
11 - Friends won’t criticise you for changing, if they are soul friends they will love who you become and support every evolution you wish to make!
12 - Your family won’t hate you if you take time away to heal yourself, they’ll love you for becoming whole and accepting them for who they are as much as you accept yourself.
13 - You can have and create an amazing life without finishing high school.
14 - It’s ok to let friends go, if their energy doesn’t serve you, you’re not serving them either.
15 - Re-writing your beliefs and stories is a sure way of re-creating your whole life!
16 - You create every single thing in your life, through your thoughts. Choose wisely what you think about.
17 - Sex isn’t shameful, embrace it and live your fullest life!
18 - Life really is too short to spend it in a shitty job, figure out what you want and go for it.
19 - Learn your own lessons, don’t be influenced by what others did or didn’t do in their life.
20 - Sleep is one of the biggest mood influencers, definitely get enough!
21 - There is nothing you can do about how people react to you or what they think about you, all you can do is be kind, loving, compassionate and thoughtful!
22 - You make mistakes, it’s life, but don’t make yourself suffer by festering on them. Learn, let go, and move on.
23 - You don’t have to be an athlete to be move your body and feel good. Do what feels good to you!
24 - There’s no point trying to be like someone else. They are not like you. They are creating different experiences, so stay in your lane and create your own too.
25 - Food can change your life, body and mind. Choose wisely what you consume and choose what feels good for you!
26 - Change your career or profession whenever feels right, the signs are there for a reason, follow them!
27 - Life is about connection. Connect with those who vibe with you, that’s where your light will really shine.
28 - Always put yourself first. Always. When you come first, you can truly show up as your Best for everyone else!
29 - Enjoy every moment of your life for there will never ever be another one like it!
30 - Life doesn’t go downhill after 25 and it won’t after 30. You can be the happiest, healthiest, fittest, most vibrant you’ve ever been, or not. It’s your choice.
The last 29 years have been full of love, fun, joy, hate, anger, self-sabotage and trauma but it’s a life I have chosen to live. Everything has brought me here today and I am grateful.
I am the happiest, healthiest, most inspired I’ve ever been and I don’t see that deteriorating as I get older. I won’t allow it to happen.
30 is going to be the most incredible year yet and I can’t wait to deliberately create it and live it!
